    Dr. Jiangfan Zhu specialized in Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery and laparoscopic surgery. He has a major interest in endoscopic assisted thyroidectomy, laparoscopic gallbladder, common bile duct, liver, pancreas & spleen surgeries, laparoscopic hernia repair and transumbilical endoscopic surgery (TUES). Engaged in laparoscopic surgery from 1995, he is the first people in China to do hand-assisted laparoscopic splenectomy and devascularization, and video-assisted endoscopic thyroidectomy, the first one in China to do the research concerning with surgical robot , the first people to do the research and clinical work in transumbilical endoscopic surgery in china. He is chief physician in the department of general surgery.

   Zhu earned his Master's degree at Third Military Medical College in 1987, then he got trained in Dr. Michel Gagner's center, Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York from 1999 to 2000. He is a member of The Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He serves at editorial board for many medical journals including Journal of Laprsocopic Surgery, Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery.
