Interview with Mr. Zhang Disheng,academician of Shanghai Ninth Poeple s Hospital
Mr.Zhang Disheng,member of Chinese Academy of Engineering,was born in Wuxi,Jiangsu on june 12,1916.He graduated from the National Medical College of Centre College in 1941, the first batch of the State Council outstanding scientists pensioners,Shanghai Jiaotong University School of Medicine lifetime professor of plastic surgery,honorary director of the institute,former director of plastic surgery and president of Shanghai No.9 People's Hospital, Institute of reparative and reconstructive surgery China former chairman,and he was elected the Chinese academician of Academy of Engineering in 1996.
He led the first Shanghai surgery medical team to attend the US Aggression and Aid Korea in 1950. He established China's first war malformation treatment centers in changchun. In 1958,he participated in the large area burn Qiu Caikang's rescue work successfully,and he has created the world's treatment of large area burn miracle, won the two prize of the Ministry of health.In the middle of 60's,he made efforts in the pathogenesis and treatment of chronic extremity lymphedema,kept on carving,founded the new concept of drying up therapy,and created chinese lymphoma discipline.
He is the first one who uses application of microsurgical techniques for scientific experiments in China,he began for animal experiment with small vascular free flap in 1964,he got initial stage gradually applied in clinical repair surgery in early 70's,and he is one of the founders of the microsurgery. He will be the micro plastic surgery organic combination,breaking through the traditional concept of "plastic surgery",reforming a shape modification and functional recovery of the organic unity of the new concept of"plastic surgery", thus obtained the unprecedented development of plastic surgery. In 1976,he was already over sixty yeas old,but he was still ambitious,craniotomy operation of osteotomy with his great courage and wisdom,got a successful treatment of the first cases of orbital hypertelorism,opened a prelude to the development of craniofacial surgery in china. At present,the specialist has more than 500 cases of craniofacial trauma caused by congenital malformation and acquired deformity, skillfully execute "face changing therapy", so that china can be among the forefront of the international craniofacial surgery.
